The album's a crucial session with Bob Brookmeyer on valve trombone ¨C also at a great early point in his career, and making some really magical sounds next to Stan's tenor ¨C both of them a mix of lyrical and modern, yet in different ways ¨C and with different tonal ranges that really make the music sparkle.
