Hendrix himself gave Randy the stage name to differentiate him from band mate Randy Palmer. 15-year-old California left the Blue Flames when they embarked on a European tour and his parents refused to let him go. Released in 1972, Kapt. Kopter And The (Fabulous) Twirly Birds is California's first solo record.
